Our students come to us surrounded by technology.  We help them navigate those tools and prepare them for responsible use by giving them opportunities to use it in a collaborative and educational way.
 

We are excited to have just completed our new STEM lab!  Included in this lab is an interactive display board for student use, an additional cart of student chromebooks, a makerspace with a wide-range of student materials, new flooring, and new furniture.  We have also added a 65 inch smart TV in each classroom to enhance student learning.

• Work on educational websites such as jigzone.com (jigsaw puzzles), starfall.com, pbskids.org and abcya.com to reinforce math and language skills from classwork, as well as to learn how to navigate through the Internet and how to manipulate websites using mouse skills and mouse pad skills especially focusing on clicking, and clicking and dragging.

• Become familiar with the keyboard by typing alphabet and numbers as well as username and password for Grades 1 and 2 (and Kindergarten during the second semester).

• Begin learning how to use software such as Publisher, Word, Excel and Power Point by completing simple tasks such as creating greeting cards, simple signs, creative writing such as poems, making and using a 100 Chart, and exploring story writing in Power Point by making slides for beginning, middle and end.

• Begin learning how to use Google docs, sheets, and slides by creating and sharing a variety of tasks.

• Work in Google Classroom on assignments to reinforce math and language skills from classwork, as well as to learn how to create products and to collaborate on them by sharing with classmates and teachers. Middle school students work on projects that focus on duplicating specific formats.

• Further use of Google docs, sheets, and slides for assignment completions, sharing documents, and a variety of other in depth tasks.

• Continue keyboarding skills by using school created accounts on typing.com.

• Continue use of software such as Publisher, Word, Excel, and Power Point by completing tasks such as calendars, schedules, reports, writing pieces, making and using spreadsheets for assignments such as budgets, and exploring the creation of presentations in Power Point.

• Improve skills with drawing tools in PAINT to create more advanced original artwork.

• Use educational apps on Mac laptops as well as creating products in iMovie and MuseScore for class assignments.
