The primary purpose of physical education at Holy Name Catholic School is to develop an essential understanding of the positive impact an active lifestyle will have on student lives. Students learn how to develop and implement personal growth plans to address cardiorespiratory, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility areas of personal fitness.
Health:
Using physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social areas of the health spectrum, students explore ways to positively influence the health behavior of individuals and communities. Students also develop an understanding of other factors such as environment, peers, and family that influence their health decisions. Health education improves the overall health status of individuals, families, communities, states, and the nation.
